On May 3, 2014 more than 40 people gathered to make a house in one day for a very deserving and special family in Tecate, Mexico. The slab on grade was existing and rough electrical and plumbing were installed prior to the framing and assembling of the house. The square footage is roughly +500 square feet with a loft space.
I was very fortunate to be invited to help with the build and document the process.
This is the big take away: Sometimes in life we often make ourselves aware of why we do the things we do. When we do that, it shows that there are things much bigger than us and our own individual meaning. A community building a house together is a great example of that.
